Priority hiring status

CFI has an agreement with the United States Army Recruiting Command to provide priority hiring status to qualified soldiers participating in the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program.

Military CDL Act

With the passing of the Military CDL Act, returning U.S. military veterans are able to more easily obtain a commercial driver’s license. Combined with CFI’s tuition reimbursement and company-paid tuition options, it’s easier than ever to afford and obtain your CDL.

Military apprenticeship program

CFI has its own apprenticeship program that enables qualified veterans or reservists to use their GI Bill benefits to supplement their income up to $1,000 per month in their first year of employment with CFI. During your first year as a new driver (the apprenticeship period), you’ll fulfill a series of skill qualifications, training and safe-driving performance milestones with the guidance of a driver trainer. This program is available only to qualified veterans or reservists who choose to start their truck-driving career with CFI.

Personal Note

I was Navy for a long time and Ellen was a Military Dependent. We both enjoy the attention CFI pays to supporting the Military.

CFI boasts a large number of former Military personnel not only in our Driver force but also within the complex structural makeup of our company.

The skills you learned as an MOS in the service are the skills we’re looking for. Experienced military drivers have the potential to earn more after they receive their CDL, essentially leveraging military driving experience for extra income.

Transition assistance

CFI has relationships with the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and with One-Stop Career Centers throughout the country, to help recently separated military personnel find the right job, program or opportunity to start or continue their training.

Driver certification program

Drivers with recent military driving experience and a CDL will be considered for our driver certification program in Joplin, Missouri. Upon completion of the program, the drivers train with a driver trainer for 7,500 miles and can quickly transition to the experienced driver pay scale.
